15 Sustainable Living Tips for Beginners

Before moving to Los Angeles years back, I was clueless when it came to the term “sustainability.” I bought whatever my heart desired, based upon how it looked and the price, without seeking any information regarding the production or the impact it had on the environment.

Why did I begin my sustainable journey?

Honestly, it’s something that sort of just happened with me needing to create more space in my home when becoming pregnant with my son. I wanted to declutter and overall begin a new minimalist lifestyle. Once I began researching minimalist living, sustainable living kept coming up. Next thing you know, I had been searching the web for HOURS on this topic. And then boom, my journey to sustainable living begin.

What does sustainable living mean to me?

Sustainable living is meeting our basic needs while trying to use the least amount of Mother Earth’s natural resources. We all have the choice to take small initiatives within our lives to ensure our children, grandchildren, and beyond are left with a good environment to live in.

Sustainable living isn’t a one-time thing, it's a lifestyle. It is about making more conscious decisions every day while limiting our amount of waste whether we’re talking socially, within our environment, or the economy.
